Family Literacy Day Celebration and Video Launch

Our new online educational video for parents was launched in conjunction with Family Literacy Day celebrations on Monday, January 27th at the Fredericton Public Library at 2:00 pm. The event included book giveaways for families in attendance, a premiere viewing of the new video, snacks and a story time for children with books read by our New Brunswick Lieutenant Governor, Brenda Murphy.

The video demonstrates the joy and importance of sharing books with infants and toddlers and contains helpful information and tips for parents wishing to support their children’s early literacy development from birth. It was developed as a collaboration between Born to Read NB, the UNB Early Childhood Centre, the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick, and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, which funded the project.
